◎レビュー (Amazon)
A teen film ought to have a cheap and sleazy teen soundtrack, something frivolous and silly. Resurrecting German heavy-metal legends the Scorpions ("Rock You Like a Hurricane," no less) satisfies the silly part. For frivolous, there are several generic '90s alterna-rockers sounding a bit more charged (Letters to Cleo, Ednaswap). Not to be lost in the shuffle are Imperial Teen, who sashay in with a sprightly, silly romp called "Yoo Hoo," while most of the others recall the fun, fun, fun vibe of retro-rock of years past. Shampoo evince the excitability of early-'80s new wave with "Don't Call Me Babe." The Friggs' "Bad Word for a Good Thing" re-creates the neo-garage revival of the mid '80s. The Donnas approximate the Kim Fowley-inspired female teen dream of the Runaways. The Prissteens squash the '60s girl-group formula through a ratty distortion pedal.
