◎レビュー (Amazon)
Hit for hit, rhyme for rhyme, DJ Clue Presents Backstage Mixtape integrates obscure underground tracks such as Cam'Ron's "Hate Music" with pipin' hot joints such as Mya and Jay Z's "Best of Me." Like on a legendary mixtape, Clue seamlessly blends song after song, providing a continuous flow of tunes. As well as the heavily rotated radio singles, "In the Club" by Beanie Sigel and "My Mind Right" by Memphis Bleek, Backstage celebrates lady lyricists on "Road Dawgs" which witnesses Amil, Eve, and Da Brat teaming up with Jay-Z over a bubbling bounce instrumental. Apart from the continuous signature Clue interjections and ad-libs, this album puts mainstream R&B and hip-hop tracks together just like a puzzle. --Elon D. Johnson
