インディ・ロックを経由したエレクトロ系のダンス・ミュージック。リチャード・ヤンコヴィッチとニューヨークの個性派レコード店、アザー・ミュージックの店員であるジェラルド・ハミルを中心とするバーンサイド・プロジェクトのデビュー・アルバムだ。打ち込みのビートを主体にしたエレクトロなサウンドにオーガニックなギターや男女ヴォーカルなどを組み合わせた世界は、ヤンコヴィッチが愛してやまないニュー・オーダーを最新のビートで再現したようにも聞こえる。柔らかい美メロが心地いい。2曲目の「cue the pulse to begin」はジャッキー・チェン主演の映画『MEDALLION 』に主題歌としてフィーチャーされている。（山口智男）
